CityAge Event

CityAge hosted a virtual event that took a deep dive on the City of Las Vegas and the state of Nevada, exploring their important lessons on investing in technology, energy, transportation systems and ways to enhance customer experience. For “The Future’s Infrastructure is Digital” Panel, Melanie led a discussion alongside Michael Sherwood, CIO for the City of Las Vegas; Alyssa Rodriguez, Director of IT for the City of Henderson; Steph Stoppenhagen, Director of Strategy and Innovation at Black & Veatch; and Bob Leek, Deputy CIO for Clark County.

Melanie was featured in TedxPresidio to speak about her experiences as the Director of the San Francisco Department of Environment, which helps all SF residents and businesses take an active role in protecting and enhancing the urban environment, produces and publicizes information on sustainable practices, and develops innovative and practical environmental programs for all residents.

At the Garrison Institute's 2011 Climate, Cities and Behavior Symposium, Melanie Nutter, Director of the San Francisco Department of the Environment, described the City's Zero Waste Program. Over the past decade the program has not only significantly reduced the amount of waste produced by the City, it has also created jobs, promoted social equity and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

At a Full Circle Fund Meeting, Melanie was the keynote speaker and discuss "The Role of the Government in Greening the Economy and Creating Sustainable Impact." Melanie Nutter was the Co-Chair of Full Circle Fund's Environment/Energy Circle.
